Cardiff based rock band The Reasoning features four times winner of the Classic Rock Society's Best Female Vocalist award Rachel Cohen; along with Tony Turrell (keyboards/vocals), Matthew Cohen (bass), and Jake Bradford-Sharp (drums). Keith Hawkins (guitars) is the band's newest member, joining in 2012 following the sudden and widely publicised disappearance of guitarist Owain Roberts.

The band's 2006 debut Awakening included a guest appearance from Marillion's Steve Rothery and garnered worldwide critical acclaim. Dark Angel, released in 2008, continued to expand the band's international fan base. In 2009 The Reasoning's first single, a cover of the Duran Duran classic The Chauffeur, reached No.2 in the Amazon Download Chart, and their third studio album, Adverse Camber (April 2010) demonstrated a new confidence and maturity. In response to popular demand, a limited edition album - Acoustically Speaking - was also released in 2010, and featured stunning re-workings of some older tracks.

In July 2010, The Reasoning opened the final day of the inaugural High Voltage festival in London. The band's performance won them many new fans: this was released on DVD shortly afterwards.

2011 saw the band perform at the Rites of Spring Festival (RoSfest) in the USA, and they released their first live album at the end of last year, entitled Live in the USA: The Bottle of Gettysburg.

Having established an excellent fan-base - and garnered much coverage within the UK music press - The Reasoning begin a new and exciting journey for 2012, after signing a worldwide deal with the dynamic and forward thinking label Esoteric / Cherry Red. A brand new studio album is scheduled for September, and a four-track EP of brand new material was released to critical acclaim in March 2012.

The band are now looking forward to a busy year, in which they will reach a far wider audience, and will be able to build significantly upon the success that they have achieved to date. There are plans for plenty of live shows - both in the UK and much further afield - throughout the year.

As always, The Reasoning are committed to the progress and development of the music for which they are so passionate: the future is bright, and the band are keen to share it with all of you.
